Some albums take a lifetime

The credits may list this album’s dates, locations, writers and players. But the words and music speak of every place, every musician, every trial and triumph that came before. DEAD MAN’S SHOES is that kind of album.

Kim Cheshire has been honing his craft as a singer-songwriter for more years than he’d care to remember. From the English country-rock scene to Sydney Australia’s country music bars, his travels, influences and experiences provide a telling backdrop to this remarkable collection of songs.

Kim’s catalyst for sifting through his back pages was a chance encounter with producer Glen Hannah. And the resulting collaboration – Kim, Glen and ‘great musicians, but friends too’ – is an apparently effortless album steeped in empathy, goodwill and mutual experience.

“This album had to sound like a solo album.  I wanted the lyrics to draw the listener into my personality – my voice, my story and I feel like I’ve put my heart on the line here.  I’ve spent my whole life in music and finally got around to show people what I really think. This is how I want to sound and what I’ve got to say. And I’m really proud of that.”  Kim Cheshire

Dead Man's Shoes is out September 2010
